Beers of the World Live

Resounding success for inaugural Beers of the World Live event

The UK’s premier beer tasting event stormed onto the scene in June as Beers of the World magazine held its first live show to critical acclaim from consumers and trades people alike.

Situated at the world-renowned NEC in Birmingham, visitors from across the globe were eager to learn about the secrets of their favourite tipple from some of the best in the business.

The Beers of the World Live stage was bursting with excitement as TV favourites ‘The Hairy Bikers’ whisked visitors “around the world with a crate of beer.” Dave Myers and Si King matched beer with a host of different foods from cheese to chocolate, smoked fish to Thai salad and the loveable duo spiced up their global knowledge of cookery with customarily warmhearted humour.

In the masterclasses, visitors got the chance to take a more in depth look at some world class beers, hosted by some of the most knowledgeable people in the industry. Roger Protz, leading beer journalist and editor of the Good Beer Guide, took listeners on a liquid tour of the length and breadth of England, its breweries and beers while Head Brewer at Sharp’s, Stuart Howe, guided the mesmerised audience through his latest creations.

And, with an on-site delivery service, many of the assembled masses took the opportunity to carry on the experience at home by ordering extra supplies of their favourite ales.

Beer brands available at the show included: 703 Alhambra Bateman’s Caledonian Coopers Duvel Harviestoun Grolsch Fuller’s Budweiser Budvar.....
