Beers of the World Live is the beer sampling event of the year, bringing premium international beer to life at Birmingham’s NEC. Running alongside the BBC Summer Festival, Beers of the World Live will showcase beer in a stylish environment with sampling as the core of the event, alongside great food and beer pairings, Masterclasses, live stage presentations and themed educational zones. Bringing all the very best beer from around the world under one roof, Beers of the World Live will appeal to both the enthusiast and novice alike, with expert advice on hand and the opportunity to learn about the basics of beer.

Tastings
Beers of the World Live gives visitors the unique opportunity to sample great beers, while mingling with the brewers themselves, all under one roof.

The Beer Experiences are the education and entertainment zones, providing extra sensory experiences, and getting to the heart of beer production and why beer tastes so good.

  The Hairy Bikers will be at Beers of the World Live on Saturday and Sunday, performing live on stage and sharing their passion for food and beer in “The Hairy Bikers – around the world with a crate of beer.” This is your opportunity to get up close with motorbiking chefs, Dave Myers and Si King, as they match beer with a host of different foods – from cheese to chocolate, smoked fish to Thai salad.

Vouchers
All samples are available only in exchange for vouchers. Each sample requires 1 or 2 vouchers depending on the beer. Some rare beers may require more vouchers. Pints will not be served, samples will be 100ml.

Tickets are strictly limited – book now to avoid disappointment.
Children (under 18) are welcome when they are accompanied by an adult.
No consumption to those aged under 18 year of age.

What is Beers of the World Live?
Beers of the World Live is the international celebration of beer, bringing all the beers of the world together under one roof. Leading brewers from around the world will exhibit their beers with sampling as the heart of the show in a fun, interesting and educational environment.

What are the entrance prices?
Friday 13th June 2008 £17.50 (on the door £21)

What is included in the entrance price?
Tickets include entry to Beers of the World Live from 12pm-6pm and all day entry to the BBC Summer Festival 2008, plus the show guide and a copy of Beers of the World Magazine.

What is not included in the entrance price?
Your tasting glass, which costs £3 on sale or return, and includes 6 tasting vouchers.

What is a voucher?
A voucher is the event’s currency to help you sample. No sample may be tasted without exchanging a number of vouchers. You receive 6 vouchers with your glass, and further vouchers are available during the show. You will require 1 voucher for each sample (and perhaps more with some special beers).

Are there any special requirements for the evening?
The main aim is for visitors to enjoy themselves and we want this to be in a responsible way. Beers of the World Live operates a Responsible Drinking Policy to ensure we promote a safe and friendly environment in the interests of all visitors. Beer samples are only poured in return for Beers of the World Live sample vouchers. Alcohol will not be sold or supplied to anyone under the age of 18 or anyone who is drunk.

How do I get to Beers of the World Live?
The NEC is easily accessible by road, rail and air.

By rail:
Birmingham International is linked to The NEC. The walk from the station to the NEC is approximately 15 minutes. There are direct trains from many cities and a direct route from London Euston plus a comprehensive local service throughout the Midlands. If travelling by train, disembark at Birmingham International station. Access to The NEC take 10-15 minutes and is linked with flat travelling escalators in places and lifts to move between floors.

By coach:
Check your local paper for trips available or why not organise one yourself! For more details on group bookings call our designated team on 020 7014 8521. Coach parking is £15 payable on the day.

By car:
The NEC is well sign-posted from the M6 (J4), the M42 (J6), the A45, A446 & M1. There is ample car parking (£8 payable on the day). Shuttle buses operate between the car parks and the show.
